The ASEAN Federation of Forwarders Associations (AFFA) is a regional intergovernmental organisation comprising ten Southeast Asian states which promotes freight forwarding through intergovernmental cooperation and facilitates cargo transport through tri-service transport amongst its members and Asian states.
Since its formation on 7 December 1991 by Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Brunei and Thailand, the organisation’s membership has expanded to include Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. Communication by members across nations takes place in English.
Today, AFFA stands strong with a total of 10 members in the Organization.
FMFF was registered in September 1987 as a National Association representing the Freight Forwarders in the logistics industry. In 2000, the Ministry of Transport endorsed and recognized FMFF as a national Association to represent the logistics industry. Current membership in FMFF nationwide is about 1091 members.
FMFF is affiliated to FIATA (International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association), AFFA (Asean Freight Forwarders Association), FAPAA (Federation of Asia Pacific Air Cargo Associations, MNSC (Malaysian National Shippers Council).
FMFF participates in many government forums such as Dialogues with MITI and MOF, Customs Liaison meeting, MOT, MLC, Trade and Facilitation Action Council (MITI) and provides industry views and inputs for policy makers’ consideration.
Persatuan Penghantar Fret Johor or better known as the Johor Freight Forwarders Association (JOFFA) was established in 1978 (formally known as Persatuan Ejen-Ejen Kastam Dan Pengangkutan or Customs Forwarding and Transport Agents Association Johor Bahru till 1996).JOFFA. under the leadership of our demised President, Mr.Toon Teng Fatt (passed away on 24 September 2014) moved into our own 3-storey building in 2000. With this move, we are poised to better serve the interests of our members, especially in providing for, the training needs of our members. With globalization and growing borderless commerce, JOFFA is dedicated to move its members towards achieving our goals and aspirations. Our 240 over members consist of key players in the logistic industry and we are well represented in discussion panels with various Government Agencies and NGOs.
